Brussels-based practice: Holistic bodywork & complementary care
¡Baila!
Salsa is a joyful and unifying dance that offers a moment to escape from the daily routine."
Salsa has its roots in the ritual dances brought to the Caribbean by African slaves, who were shipped by Spanish colonists to the sugar plantations. There, they came into contact with indigenous and European cultures and developed their own strategies for survival, keeping their cultural and musical traditions alive.
Music is an invitation to experience a deep connection with the soul of another. In the shared vibration of music and dance, a dialogue arises that goes beyond words and touches the very essence. Dance has many similarities with the challenges and growth opportunities we face in our everyday lives.
In this salsa initiation workshop, many participants discover what it means to experience a greater sense of safety in their own body. From your own center and with your feet firmly on the ground, you reach out to one another. You don’t need to hold onto your partner or force them into a movement. Instead, you attune to the subtle signals from your partner via your heart center, your core, and your breath, fostering a natural and intuitive connection. This creates the space to experience flow and embrace moments of peaceful stillness. You are then in connection with the other, while simultaneously feeling completely free within yourself!
Have you been wanting to try a few dance moves for a while but haven’t taken the leap due to circumstances? Or maybe you’ve tried a dance class before but found it a bit too complicated? This salsa workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover something new and fun in an accessible and friendly environment.
Bodhiwhispers stands out by offering a simple and enjoyable approach to introducing you to this beautiful dance style. We start step-by-step, with a brief introduction to the music genre.
Bodhiwhispers has a small dance studio equipped with professional mirrors. The space accommodates up to two dance pairs. Bringing a dance partner is possible, but not a necessity.
Within the practice’s atmosphere of integrity and safety, respect for each other’s personal space and boundaries is central. Together, we explore instruments, music, and rhythm, and take the first dance steps – first solo, then in duo. The focus is on conscious body awareness and energetic connection, working in accordance with our professional ethics. Got the hang of it? Then you have a solid foundation to enroll in one of the great dance schools in your neighborhood!
Bring your dance vibes 😉 and wear comfortable clothing (we dance in socks for optimal contact with the earth)!
