Brussels-based practice: Holistic bodywork & complementary care
My path to becoming a practitioner in energetic bodywork was no coincidence, but a conscious integration of different worlds. My foundation as a Business Engineer and my years as a management consultant in Global Healthcare form the analytical basis of my practice. It allows me to approach holistic well-being with a clear, professional lens.
In my practice in Ixelles (Brussels), I apply my diverse background and years of experience to guide people in energetic bodywork.
I completed a four years professional training as advanced shiatsu practitioner, certified by O-KI Shiatsu School Brussels in partnership with Kajudo. Both schools are recognised by the Belgian and European Shiatsu Federation. The shiatsu training programme consists of three cycles, comprising a minimum of 450 teaching hours (including 50 hours of internship), 150 documented practical sessions and reflection reports, and 60 hours of basic medical training in anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Here are some of the shiatsu styles covered during classes (each with their corresponding founder):
Zenshiatsu – meridian extensions and body exercises (Shizuto Masunaga)
Wellmother shiatsu – body-oriented support around pregnancy (Suzanne Yates)
Shintai – structural and fascia techniques (Saul Goodman)
Jigen Ryu – techniques based on Japanese martial arts (Kojun Harada)
Sotai – neuromuscular harmonisation through exercises in natural movement (Keizo Hashimoto)
Emoshiatsu & Decoding – Japanese acupressure in the context of emotion management (Bart Dierick)
Shiatsu & Voice liberation – exploration work using the authentic voice (Bart Dierick)
The modules on macrobiotics (nutrition according to George Ohsawa) and foot reflexology (according to William Fitzgerald, among others) completed my training.
