Brussels-based practice: Holistic bodywork & complementary care
Exercise is fun!
Bring your life energy into flow and harmony.
Do-In yoga has its roots in the ancient Chinese medical tradition, which also forms the basis of the more recent Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and it is influenced by the Zen tradition as well as Japanese shiatsu. In Chinese, this yoga style is known as Dao-Yin or Tao-Yin, meaning “consciously guiding life energy through the body while stretching and lengthening the limbs”.
Do-In uses the theory of the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water), commonly used in TCM to support physical and emotional well-being. This teaching views the body as a microcosm of the universe, where the elements correspond to specific meridians (energy channels in the body), organs, emotions, and seasons. By understanding and harmonizing these elements, we can cultivate balance and vitality.
A Do-In workshop or class consists of a consciously structured combination of yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, meridian stretches, self-acupressure, and strengthening the hara (the body’s center of gravity). This yoga style is movement-based, with alternating physical activity (yang) and body awareness (yin).
Learning to listen to your body is an art in itself and you don’t need to be particularly flexible or strong! We connect to the wisdom of our body in a patient and gentle way. Everyone practices according to their ability.
We offer both collective classes and private workshops:
Collective classes take place at fixed times. Due to the limited number of places it is necessary to book in advance.
A private workshop allows you to decide on the date and the people you want to bring along. You have the option to select from a suggested theme or to order your book ‘à la carte’. Participants may select either one-hour or one-and-a-half-hour workshops. In short, there is something for everyone.
If the weather is good, we will go to a nearby park. Please bring flexible clothing, a yoga mat, a meditation cushion if wanted, a blanket for warmth, and a bottle of water. A changing room is available.
