Brussels-based practice: Holistic bodywork & complementary care

Experience the power of simplicity

Reiki in Brussels • A gentle energetic breeze for body and mind

Reiki can be translated as ‘Universal Life Energy’, which is passed on through the laying on of hands. The founder of Reiki is Mikao Usui, a Japanese spiritual Master from the early 20th century.

Opening space for energy — Together

There is nothing mysterious or dangerous about Reiki. Laying on hands is one of the most basic human responses to offer comfort and relief.

During a session, I have a humble role as a Reiki practitioner: I act as a channel for universal life energy. By being grounded in the present moment, through a strong connection between heart and hara (abdomen), the universal energy I channel can flow gently. This creates flow — a moment often experienced as pure beauty.

What Reiki can support

Reiki can support the natural energy flow and the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to soften physical, emotional, and mental blockages. In this sense, Reiki is a holistic and complementary discipline.

However, Reiki is not a miracle cure. It primarily helps you regain your own strength and balance by offering more inner peace or space for new perspectives. Essential to this is how you integrate the experience of the session into your daily life afterwards.

Universal life energy

Universal life energy can be considered the primal source of consciousness and unconditional love. We all carry these qualities within us, but they can become covered by layers of experience from painful life events.

Reiki is like a gentle breeze flowing through the energetic layers of the body. Little by little, what is blocked is released, your energy begins to flow freely again, and your natural radiance returns.

Training & Reiki lineage

I offer Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki sessions in the lineage of Mikao Usui – Chujiro Hayashi – Hawayo Takata – Phyllis Furumoto – Johannes Reindl.

I received my training and initiation from Frank and Kathy Coppieters, a wise and loving couple. Frank Coppieters became a Reiki Master under Paul Mitchell, who himself was initiated by Hawayo Takata and collaborated with Phyllis Furumoto.

Practical info: Reiki session

📍 The practice is located in Ixelles, near the VUB/ULB campuses and just 150m from the Delta metro station, on the border of Auderghem, Watermael-Boitsfort, and Etterbeek.

During an in-person Reiki session, you will take your place on a massage table, in clothing. It is possible to have suitable background music. During the session I will move into different positions with my hands on different parts of your body. It is a great opportunity to do nothing at all: you can just Be. It is primarily a moment of experience rather than a moment of thinking and reasoning.

During the session, the following sensations are possible and perfectly normal: warmth, cold, tingling, yawning, emotions, insights, tummy rumblings, etc.

After the session most people feel relaxed, lighter, more positive and grounded. There may be some detoxification symptoms for a while (such as mild tiredness, nausea or headaches), to afterwards feel better than before the session.

You can stay in the comfort of your own home for a remote session. In this case, we connect and conclude the session via video call or text message.
